Hail

I was up most of the night, between the flash of the lightning and the roar of the thunder it was hard to get much sleep. Then about 4:00 - 4:30 the hail hit, and they were BIG hailstones. It was deafening! Seemed like it went for about 10 - 15 minutes but neither of us really checked the clock. We knew we lost the vent cover for the roof vent in the bedroom, we could see the cracks and then the rain started leaking in. Once the hail stopped we went out to check what we could, looks like we made out pretty good...other neighbors were out and some lost air conditioner covers, windshields, vent covers and even some of the awnings over the slides!  RV's and hail storms just don't mix!  The sun isn't up yet so we don't know if there are dings in the pickup...guess we will see in while.  I know they have had lots of damage in the Phoenix area, I'm sure it is all through central Arizona.

Hail outside our trailer

I just grabbed a few of the hailstones ... you can see how they would do damage!

Hi Sharon, We are in Cottonwood, AZ which is about 50 miles south of Flagstaff and 100 miles north of Phoenix. Gosh, what a night! They have tornado warnings for this area through 5:00 pm...2 touched down in Flagstaff early this morning, hopefully that's it for the day!

Oh man! Unbelievable! You know, we LOVE thunderstorms, but have never been in one that causes a lot of damage. I know the sound that sprinkles of rain make on the roof. You're right! It must have been deafening!
I guess a tornado can pop up just about anywhere. Glad the damage wasn't any worse!

Hi! Well the night started with amazing thunder storms...shame it had to end with all the hail. At least we didn't get the full tornado like they did in Bellemont. What a mess they have!
