In Prosser again

We are back where we began our adventure, Prosser WA. About a month ago we were here for a couple weeks, this time we will be here a week and then off we go for another year or so.

I took a few photos while driving through the Columbia River Gorge. It is so beautiful right now, the trees are that new-leaf-green. The Gorge from Portland to at least The Dalles (to Maryhill State Park is even better) is a fabulous drive, if you are ever in the area put it on your list of things to do! I've posted a few links below.

In Vancouver, WA

Our visit back home to the Yakima Valley was really great. Still not enough time to see everyone, but we will be back!

We traveled down to Vancouver, WA yesterday for a week to visit with some of my family. My Mom lives in Vancouver and my sister & her husband live nearby. My brother and his wife are going to come down from their home in Moses Lake to visit this weekend for Easter, so it should be fun. Yesterday we had a good visit with Mom and today I took her around shopping and for a few errands. Mom broke her kneecap a few weeks ago and can’t drive. My sis has been running Mom around and helping out, so while I’m in town I’m trying to give her a break!

The weather has been pretty nice so far. It rained most of the night but yesterday and today has gone back and forth between clouds and sun so I‘m not going to complain.

Back in familiar territory

We are at Maryhill State Park (just south of Goldendale, WA) for the night…a place we have stayed at many times. It’s a really pretty park right on the Columbia River and we always enjoy stopping here.

Our drive was fairly long today, especially with our stop at Junction City, OR to pick up our new furniture. When we were at the furniture store I decided to go with a couple different recliners than what we picked out before. They were a little more money but a lot more comfy!

Today’s post is short and only one photo as my aircard is on “extended network” which is pretty darn slow. I wasn’t going to even try posting a photo, but the rainbow that was just outside our door this afternoon was just toooooo pretty!!

Another Long Day On The Road

We are in Washington State in the Columbia River Gorge at a park called Peach Beach RV. Our target was Maryhill State Park but the “RV sites full” sign was out. Peach Beach is just next to Maryhill so we didn’t have to go looking too far. We left St. Regis at 5:30 this morning and made here around noon. Peach Beach is a nice park, a fair amount of trees and it is right on the Columbia River.

Once we got set up and registered we walked over to a fruit stand and bought some local peaches and blackberry syrup. Then we had lunch and took Cheye for a walk down to the river. She had a fun time chasing sticks Dave threw out in the water. Still no swimming, she just wades out and then lunges back through the water. *Update* we went for a walk around Maryhill Park, took Cheye down to the boat launch area and she actually swam! She got out and went right back in and swam around again, actually did this 3 more times. I think we finally have a water dog! I'll post the video tomorrow when I should have better internet speeds. (do I sound like a proud mom or what?)

We are both ready to be in one place for a few days. Tomorrow we have reservations through Sunday night at Coyote Rock RV in Lincoln City Oregon. We stayed there before and enjoyed it. The park is right on the Siletz River and is a very pretty. Looking forward to sleeping in, walks on the beach and hopefully some evening bonfires...maybe a toasted marshmellow or two. :)
