Last Night

Last night we had dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s Bar and Grill in the MGM Grand. Wow, absolutely wonderful food. We aren’t gourmets, we tend to keep to pretty standard fare, so to go to a “fancy” restaurant like this was out of the norm for us. We had looked at the menu online to make sure there was something we would like. They have a couple kinds of steaks so if nothing else struck us we could have that. Well… they had an extra menu called “Flavors of Fall” and both Dave & I picked off of that menu. Here is what we all had:

Chad had the Rib Eye Steak with Tuscon Potatoes, and Brandy Mustard Sauce.

Robin had the Grilled Salmon with Sunchoke Puree, Summer Vegetables and Herb Sabayon

Dave and I had: First Course: Roasted Baby Beets with Arugula, Citrus Vinaigrette Humboldt Fog and Pistachios

Second Course: Herb-Basted Quail with Caramelized Squash, Brussel Leaves and Chanterelle Mushrooms.

Dessert: Organic Apple Tart with Vanilla Gelato and Caramel Sauce. SOOOOO yummy I forgot to take a picture of it!!! On top of all that Chad & Robin surprised us with a anniversary dessert! That was so sweet of them and it was amazingly delicious, cheesecake with pistachio gelato.

All of it was so good and we were all stuffed.

Next it was to the show Ka. It is a Cirque du Soleil show and is amazing. Robin had ordered our tickets back in August so we had great seats located center stage in the second row. Wow! It was fabulous. Here is a link to the Soleil site if you want to see a little about the show.

I wrote the prior post early this morning, now it is late and I’m pooped so I guess I’ll catch you up on today’s events tomorrow! Nighty night.
