Camp Verde, Arizona

We made our big move from the Thousand Trail Verde Valley Preserve in Cottonwood, AZ to the Western Horizon Camp Verde park in Camp Verde, AZ. It’s about a 7 mile trip to the south. The campground is plain but nice.

We got set up and then took Cheye for a little walk. The Verde River runs along one side of the park so we headed over there. Not a big river but it was a very swift current so no swimming for Cheye. From there we walked over to the campground’s cafĂ© for lunch and had a burger ($4.00) that came with fries and baked beans. There were a few people there, all very friendly so we had a nice chat with them all. The rest of the afternoon was spent surfing the net and relaxing in the sunshine. This evening we decided to go to La Fonda Mexican restaurant, really good food. Two meals out in one day… my favorite way to cook!
