Whalers Rest

Whaler’s Rest Park is in South Beach Oregon which is about 6 miles south of Newport. We arrived around 11:00 a.m. and found a site right away. We have satellite and with the help of our Wilson booster we have a couple bars on our cell phone and can get National Access on the aircard for internet. It’s like slow dial-up for internet but at least we can check email from the trailer. This park is on 2 sides of the main road, we have only walked around the south side and were impressed. So far we have like all of the Thousand Trails parks we have visited.

After the walk around the south side of the park we took the Beach Access trail which happens to be located just across from us. To get to the beach you have to cross Hwy. 101 and use the beach access at the Lost Creek State Park. Hmmm... Lost Creek, how do you lose a creek? Well anyway, we had a great walk on the beach. On such a beautiful day how could we help it?
